AI Transformation, Live to Camera
On 26 June 2020 Tarry Singh gave the MMC keynote as a live online session, working from a 45-slide deck exported the previous evening and leaving no photographs behind.
The title slide sets the terms. AI Transformation, in the age of hyper automation. Under it, three lines: MMC Talk, June 26th 2020, Live Keynote. Tarry Singh presented over video from the Netherlands. The deck names the host only as MMC and never spells it out. Nobody took a photograph, so the slides are the whole record.
Forty-five slides in six parts. A short history of the field, Hinton included, then four places where learning had already won: driving, diagnosis, trading, translation. After that the argument turned to the buyer. Five steps from Initiate and Align through to Improve, set against a crawl, breeze and accelerate timeline. Six layers of execution, from service delivery up to the target operating model. A nine-part model with data in the middle, running from leadership and governance through talent, technology, process flow, facilities and sourcing.
Four use cases carried the proof. A global telco that ran an eight-month blended training programme, reported skills on a scorecard built from a few hundred data points, and came out with business plans for more than twenty AI solutions valued in the deck at 2.5 billion euro. Insurers feeding real-time IoT readings into risk models for high-value commercial assets. Connected homes where behaviour informs the price. Electric vehicles reporting charging and performance back to the owner and to the energy provider.
The back half was about people. Five plateaus: fundamentals in mathematics, statistics and probability, then data visualisation, machine learning, deep learning, applied AI. Progress scored on a skills evolution matrix of roughly a hundred datapoints, more than eighty of them inside the fundamentals plateau alone. The deck puts learners trained worldwide at over 25,000.
The Keynote file holds 82 slides. Forty-five went into the export, timestamped just after ten on the evening of 25 June. The retail and marketing material stayed behind, along with the click-through metrics and an online car sales example. One slide that did travel lists file sharing and video tools for off-site work, Zoom and WebEx among them, written into the deck back in January.
Keynote source, 82 slides plus 18 master slides. Asset timestamps inside the archive run 21 to 22 January 2020. Held as record, not published.
45-page export, 1920x1080, produced 25 June 2020 at 22:01 CEST. The session deck. Held as record, not published.
