Bioinformatics comes to deep learning land
A morning talk in a Berlin workspace on how deep learning was starting to change healthcare, six weeks before the bioinformatics hackathon.

The title slide reads "Bioinformatics comes to Deep Learning Land! How is Deep Learning Transforming the Healthcare Industry", with Berlin AI and the date 17 January 2018 beneath it. The photograph that carries it was taken at 10:02 that morning and is geotagged to Berlin, which is how this talk was separated from the bioinformatics hackathon three weeks later. Both had been filed in the same folder.
The room was a workspace rather than a lecture hall: white walls, a red leather sofa, a projector throwing the slide onto the wall. One of the two men at the front is wearing a Hacking Health hackathon shirt carrying the Berlin Health Innovations mark.
This chapter exists on the strength of one photograph and the slide inside it. No deck, agenda or host paperwork survives. The organiser, the venue and the second person in the frame are all unidentified, so none is named. If you remember the event, this page can carry a great deal more.
